Back to School

It's that time of the year again....back to school!  This year Josh is going to be a Junior in high school.  I can't believe it!  He's got some pretty tough classes ahead of him but I have every confidence that he is going to pull it off just fine.  He never ceases to amaze me.

Back to School also means back to school for me as well.  I have been volunteering at a local elementary school in my area.  I'm actually a liason between my church and 4 elementary schools.  My church has an amazing community outreach program that I have the priviledge of being a part of.  As of today I have 9 outstanding volunteers that work with first grade students at 3 of the 4 schools.  I'm so thankful for them and all their hard work.
Last year this school program was started so it's very new and I along with a great team at the Mercy House are figuring out and fixing the kinks along the way.  Last year and this year we are able to present the 4 schools with backpacks, supplies and teacher goodie bags.  Each school will be getting 30 supply-filled backpacks and each teacher will be receiving a goodie bag filled with a variety of much needed classroom supplies.  It's such a blessing to be a part of something so important and fun at the same time.

Happy Back TO School !!!

Ryker's Visit with the Easter Bunny

Shouldn't he be crying???

When you take most kids to see the Easter Bunny or Santa, don't they usually scream and reach out for mama?  Not this boy.  Ryker liked the goofy looking, even freaky lookin' Easter Bunny.  Jessica said he actually cried when she took him AWAY from the bunny.  This is Ryker's 2nd Easter, but really the first one he's old enough to experience.  Happy Resurrection Day my precious grandson!!!

Happy 16th Birthday Josh!

  Rewind....Dec 6, 1995
 The time...10:58pm.
The place...St. Lukes Hospital Boise, Idaho
  Enter in: Joshua Lavon Webb.
This beautiful baby boy came into this world with a full head of black hair, big blue eyes and screaming.  Weighing an incredible 9 lbs. 13 oz, the doc tells me "he's a big baby."  Really? YOU'RE telling ME that?  I was quite aware of that already, thank you very much.  It's not long and this baby boy is placed in my arms.  Not only is he big, he's absolutely BEAUTIFUL.  I'd never seen a newborn baby so beautiful before.  Don't get me wrong, Jessica was beautiful too, I couldn't take my eyes off her, but Josh was different.  He wasn't wrinkly, bald and squinty eyed.  I almost expected him to have little teeth already.  He was "well" done.  His dad and I stared in awe at this baby boy we had a part in creating together, because we well knew God is THE creator of all life.  We couldn't believe our eyes, "he's perfect".

Fast Forward to present day: Dec 6, 2011
The time: 10:00 am
My son, my pride and joy, my perfect blessing from God.  I'll never be able to express to you in words nor in actions just how much you mean to me, how much I love you.  I know I haven't been a perfect mom, but you have been a perfect son.  My heart and mind are filled with countless meaningful memories of each and every minute of your life.  I thank God for all the times of fun, laughter, trips, school performances, holidays, birthdays, the list goes on and on that we have shared throughout the years.  I pray for many many more years to watch you grow into manhood.  I pray that God will use you in a mighty way.  I chose the name Joshua for the Joshua of the Bible.  I loved how God used him in a mighty way.  I loved how God told him to be "Strong and Courageous"  Joshua 1:6.  That is what I want for you...to be strong and courageous in the Lord.

Happy Birthday my son.  I love you!  Mom

Thanksgiving Blessings Abound

Really, really STOP and count your blessings...

How many times do we hear the phrase, "count your blessings" ? But do we really?  It is soooo easy for us to focus on the things we DON'T have.  I mean we know in the core of our heart we have MORE than enough and we'll flipently think or even say we are thankful.  However, we catch ourselves whining or complaining or simply wanting more of this or more of that and if only I _____....  We're all human and we all go through this, but this year I want to TRY very hard to REALLY TRULY count my many blessings, because I DO have SO much to be thankful for.

First and foremost I'm ALWAYS thankful that I have the Lord in my life.  I'm thankful He loves me, thankful He died for me, thankful He forgives me for my ugly side, thankful that He has never given up on His oh-so-pathetic servant, thankful for His grace, mercy and almighty power!

I'm also VERY thankful for my PRECIOUS children and grandchildren.  I'm thankful for my LOVING and CARING husband who loves me so much.   I'm thankful I got to spend this Thanksgiving with my son.  I missed everyone so much BUT I am thankful Josh got to be here with us.

Thank you Lord, for ALL things big and small, seen and unseen...THANK YOU!

A Year Already

A Tribute to My Dad

It's hard to believe that it has already been a year (tomorrow Oct 15) since my dad passed away.  As we all know, a year can feel so short or so long depending on our circumstances.  For me this year has flown by and it still seems unreal that my dad is gone.  I guess that's what "they" mean when it's said our loved ones live on in our hearts.
We miss you daddy!
